He started teaching T&I in the 1980s at the Francophone Graduate School for Translators and Interpreters of Brussels and shortly afterwards to linguists of the Council of Ministers of the European Union. In the early 2000s, he became Dean of his school and Secretary General of CIUTI. In 2006, he left Belgium for China. He created the multilingual T&I faculty in Kaohsiung and later became a professor at BFSU. He regularly visits XISU and in 2008 was elected Secretary General of FIT. For several years, he served as trainer in the TAC Training of Trainers program. Currently, he is editor-in-chief of Babel.
