He is professor in Applied Linguistics and Translation, a member of the Translators Association of China Council, and Executive Director of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Language Research and Service at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. He is on the editorial board with two Chinese journals: Chinese Translators Journal and The World of English. He has been engaged in teaching and research in the fields of translator education, terminology translation, and epistemology of translation. He was the Dean of the School of Translation Studies at Xi’an International Studies University between 2005 and 2014 and hosted a series of MoE-sponsored research projects in translator education.
