Zhang Meifang received her PhD degree specializing in Translation Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University in the late 1990s. She is full professor at the University of Macau and Coordinator of the MA Programme of Translation Studies. Prof. Zhang is founding member and Vice President of the Macau Federation of Translators and Interpreters, as well as Council Member and Expert Member of the Chinese Translators’ Association. She also serves as editorial board member and reviewer for several academic refereed journals. Her main research interests include functional and discourse analysis approaches to Translation Studies; media and political discourses and translation; translation teaching and intercultural studies. Her most recent publications include: Functional Approaches to English-Chinese Translation (《功能途径论翻译》Foreign Language Press, 2015) and Special issue of Target: Discourse Analysis in Translation Studies (edited by Jeremy Munday and Meifang Zhang, 27 (3) 2015).
