Alan K. Melby

Alan K. Melby is Professor Emeritus of Linguistics at Brigham Young University (Provo, USA), a certified French-to-English translator, and a member of the FIT Council. He has been involved in the development of T&I-related standards since the 1980s. He is currently part of the team that is updating the ISO TBX (TermBasee eXchange) standard, and was co-author of the first version of the TMX standard for exchanging translation memories. He is also a member of the development teams revising the two major international translation process standards: ISO 17100 and ASTM F2575 and the team developing a new ASTM standard that will facilitate the assessment of translation quality.
