Title: Rhetorical Awareness in Translation of CPCCC Literature

Abstract:

"Fidelity" is a basic ethical norm and requirement of a translator and it is more so for a translator of the literature of CPC Central Committee. However, we also need to approach this particular translation area from the perspective of rhetoric in order to make the translation achieve, as we wish, its purpose of enhancing a better understanding of China’s development as well as socialism with Chinese characteristics on the part of international audiences. Starting from what is particular about the CPC Central Committee literature and its translation, the article raises the issue of the importance of rhetorical awareness and discusses with examples how the awareness can benefit the translation.
